Typing, setting up Blogs, etc

In the Introduction it was stated that there are 2 ways of working from home: for others and for yourself. it was said that there could be both aspects, i.e. which one to go for that there were
often aspects of one in the other.

In this one we look at working for others. This has been possible for some time, but recently
individuals and a group of individuals have taken this a step further and searched the internet for programmes with which they can set up a Home Business. Initially they used these
programmes themselves but then decided to set up a web site and tell others about them. All
they are doing is making things easy for those who join them in that they don't have to find this
out for themselves.

They also continue to search for new programmes. But here a word of warning is relevant. In
promoting these programmes what they do is take what they think is the easiest one and
concentrate on that. I have signed up for some of them only to find out that what they said in the advert is not what I have got.

I do not suggest that they intentionally mislead. I am sure that if people implement what they
receive they would make money just as they say they would, but thought it wise to issue a word
of warning.

One such advert showed a form and said that all those who signed up had to do was fill it in and
that they would be given it in the members are and that thousands of firms wanted such forms
filling in. I took this to mean that I signed up with the firms, they sent me information that they
wanted entered I entered it and got paid. But this was not what I got.

What I got was a list of places I could go choose what I wanted to promote and do this myself. If this is what you want I am sure it is a good system, but if you want what I describe above then this would not be for you.

Another drawback to this is that you are adding people to other people's business and not your
own. It is much better to build your own list who you can promote to whenever you are told
about a programme that you feel would benefit them and which you have tried out for yourself.

One of them I joined suggested doing a Blog, which does not have this drawback, in that it is
yours and can be used to build your list.

This blog was set up as a result of joining one such system.

Review of How To Choose:
Your Autoresponder

In the last post: Working For Others, it was stated that it is better to work for yourself rather than others, but that sometimes what starts out as working for others can include elements of working for yourself.

The first thing you need is an Autoresponder. The one I use is Aweber. The reason I chose them is because:

1. The messages that I put in are delivered.

2. They supply supply a Spam check.

3. They make it easy for subscribers to change their email address.

4. They operate a double optin system.

5. They are approachable with various means of doing so being available.

6. Their help desk is not outsourced to another country.

Let us look at each of the elements.

1. Just think what would happen to your reputation as an internet marketer if someone bought something from you and because the email giving the link to download it didn't arrive. Or if you had given them something in return for their name and email address. The outcome would be. No List.

2. The reason most emails are not delivered is because the persons Spam Filter blocks. If you were told how your messages matched this you would be able to cut it to a minimum.

3. I can speak from experience on this subject. I have recently changed my ISP and wanted to let those who send me information that I had done so to ensure they continued to do so. If I saw they used Aweber I knew my task would be easy. All I had to do was scrool to the bottom of any email I received from them, click on the URL and chose Change my Details, click on change email address, delete the old email address and put in the new one - job done.

Other responders do allow you to do this but require you to confirm and you can hit the problem of undeliverability. And if you are not able to contact them you are faced with a problem of not getting what you have requested.

Others point blank refuse to allow you to change your email address and still others do not provide the means to do so.

Just imagine what would happen if you were new to the internet and the person trying to tell you about their change of email address couldn't do so. The outcome would more likely than not be that they unsubscribe and you would have lost a potentional subscriber all because you had chosen the wrong autoresponder.

4. A Double Optin System protects both those who subscribe and those they subscribe to. You are more likely to remember if you have to confirm than if you don't. And those whose mailing list you have joined are protected as they can prove you have requested the information if someone cries spam.

5. Aweber provide an instant access help desk, where you can go at certain hours type in what you want to discuss and someone immediately responds and deals with it at the time if this is possible, or does so and gets back to you.

6. Both individuals and companies outsource to another country because it is cheaper. But frequently they do not know about the system and have to contact them which means that you have to wait for an answer, which you would have had from Aweber immediately.

The thing that springs to mind when the word autoresponder is mentioned is the messages that are put in it to be sent to those who subscribe. But it is much more than that.

Aweber keeps you informed of the latest trends and how they can benefit you. You can also earn money from promoting their service as an affiliate.

A lot of people are put off signing up for an autoresponder because the thought of having to write messages, compose an Ezine on a regular basis gives them a mental block.

As always when a problem is identified someone works out a solution for it. And this case is no different. But such solutions are generally generic in that a series of articles are written around a subject. If this applies to you and you would like a solution to it and want to receive a series of pre-written messages already loaded into your autoresponder when you sign up for them, you will be given an opportunity to do so in the next post which reviews Marketing Makeover Generator.

I hope you have found this Review on Autoresponders in general and Aweber in particular helpful and will use it when choosing one.

Review of Lead Capture/Squeeze Page

After you have chosen and set up your autoresponder with the messages you want those who subscribe to your Ezine, etc to receive you want something to collect them.

What I use is Marketing Makeover Generator (MMG) This is the first thing anyone sees after they have read your advert and will determine if they want to subscribe to your list.

When you advertise it is vital to know which adverts are working and which are not and how many subscribers you get from any advertising source, be it, Traffic Exchanges, Safelists, or any other medium. That way you can reject those which are not working, particularly if they are costing you money. MMG allows you to do this.

It also allows you to put a form on your page inviting people to sign up for it themselves thereby earning you a monthly income.

You can also put audio on it. But as some Traffic Exchanges ban audios that start to play immediately you may wish to get a separate one. I use BYOAudio. You can sign up for $1.00.

This will be reviewed in a later post.

To see which Traffic Exchanges I recommend click here. Other restrictions are the use of popups. Some Safelists also have restrictions. To find out about Safelists click here.
